SAMPE North America Executive Cabinet Special Open Call for FY2023-24 Vice President

Nomination deadline is September 22^nd

Due to an unforeseen change within the North America Executive Cabinet, SAMPE North America is now seeking open-call nominations to immediately fill a crucial vacancy for the Vice President position - for the current term ending June 30, 2024.

This position holds a pivotal role within the North America Executive Cabinet, the primary body responsible for translating the directives of the North American Board of Directors into actionable policies. By being a part of this cabinet, members gain the invaluable opportunity to shape the strategic direction and future of the North America (NA) region.

Vice-President - Roles & Responsibilities:

• As the third-ranking executive officer in the North America region, the Vice President assumes a critical leadership role.
• This person has an extensive and comprehensive understanding of the NA Executive Cabinet, NA Board of Directors, all NA Committees, and staff functions.
• The Vice-President is responsible for the activities of all special and standing committees as directed by the North America President and/or the North America Board of Directors. Specifically, the Vice-President engages with the Student Committees and Programs.
• In the event of the Executive Vice President's absence, the Vice President assumes their role and responsibilities, serving as a reliable backup.
• The Vice President will serve on the Cabinet until June 30, 2024, for the balance of FY2024.
• Domestic travel is required with three (3) major meeting trips and up to fourteen (14) overnight stays until June 30, 2024.
• Employer support is essential as there is a time and travel commitment. SAMPE offers reimbursement for travel expenses in cases where the employer does not provide funding.

Minimum Qualification Requirements and Restrictions:

• Each candidate must have maintained a status as a Professional Member in good standing in a North America Chapter for a minimum of one year immediately before their candidacy.
• Candidates should be a North America Director or have successfully completed a term as a director or gained endorsement from their respective chapter.
• No individual is eligible to concurrently run for election to more than one position within the NA Executive Cabinet.

  3. Short description of your SAMPE service (including evidence that minimum qualification requirements and restrictions are met).
  4. Brief description outlining your motivation for pursuing this office.

Please take note that the SAMPE NA Nomination Committee will provide endorsements for all nominees meeting the minimum requirements and restrictions. Moreover, the committee will place an emphasis on ensuring diversity and inclusion within the SAMPE NA Executive Cabinet representation. Additionally, nominees' ability to effectively voice the interests and concerns of the North America region on the NA Executive Cabinet will be considered.
